Dr. Vijoy Pandey leads Outshift by Cisco as Senior Vice President, driving the company's internal incubation engine to build tomorrow's technologies and meet future customer needs. Since its inception in 2020, Outshift has incubated many bold ideas and launched successful businesses such as Panoptica and Motific, focusing on emerging technologies and new markets.

Vijoy leads the Outshift teams through the full product lifecycle, from ideation to market launch, focusing on cloud native applications, quantum computing, and AI. His role extends beyond Outshift, overseeing Cisco Open Source, Cisco Research, Cisco's Developer Network, and the company's Responsible AI charter.

With over 20 years of expertise in distributed systems, cloud computing, and application-first software infrastructures, Vijoy brings extensive experience to shaping a software-focused digital future.

Before Cisco, Vijoy was Head of Engineering at Google for global cloud networks, developing systems for intent-driven automation and AI/ML-based insights. His career spans large organizations and startups, having held CTO positions at IBM and Blade Network Technologies, and led teams at Nortel, Alteon, and Google. Vijoy holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UC Davis and has over 80 patents in cloud, AI/ML, and distributed systems.
